Smoky Grilled Chicken Recipe
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tbs lime juice
1 clove garlic
1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb) broiler fryer, cut up
1 large onion, halved then quartered

Soak 6 to 8 pieces hickory wood chips in water 24 hours. Combine vinegar, soy sauce, lime juice, and garlic in a blender; process 10 seconds. Place chicken in a large shallow baking dish; pour vinegar mixture over meat and cover. Refrigerate overnight, turning chicken once. Prepare charcoal fire in grill; let burn 15 to 20 minutes. Cover coals with soaked hickory chips and place onion on chips. Grill chicken over hot coals 50 minutes or until tender, turning and basting every 10 minutes. Serves 8.
