Saucy Oven Bbq Steak Recipe
2 lbs. boneless round steak
1/2 c. water
1 T. brown sugar
1 T. worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 T. vegetable oil
3/4 c. catsup
1/2 c. vinegar
1 T. mustard (yellow or brown)
1/2 tsp. salt
Trim excess fat from steak & cut into serving size pieces. Heat oil in a large skillet; add steak, & brown on both sides. Transfer steak to a 2 qt. shallow baking dish.
Combine remaining ingredients, stirring well; pour over steak. Cover with foil and bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 hrs. or until tender.
YIELDS: 6-8 servings
NOTE: I usually spoon additional sauce from the dish over the steak once its been cut up into
bite size pieces.
