Pizzawiches Recipe
2# ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped (I used half)
2 cans condensed tomato soup
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 C shredded cheddar
1 C shredded mozzarella
12 hamburger buns, split
3-4 TB butter, melted (I omitted)

In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over med. heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the soup, oregano, chili powder & garlic salt. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in cheeses. Place about 1/3 cupt meat mixture on each bun. Brush tops w/ butter. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 7-9 mins. or until cheese is melted. OR wrap sandwiches in foil & freeze for up to 3 mos.

TO BAKE FROZEN SANDWICHES: Place foil-wrapped buns on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 35-40 mins. or until heated through.

The tomato soup mixture tasted a little sweet to me, so I plan to try my favorite spaghetti sauce instead next time.
