3/4 c warm milk
1.4 c sugar

1 can of 8 oz. tomato sauce
8 slices of American cheese quartered

In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeat in warm water. add milk, sugar, shortening , egg, salt and 2 cups of flour; beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form soft dough. Turn onto floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic (4-6 minutes) Place in greased bowl turning once to grease top. cover and rise in warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes.

In skillet brown hamburger and onion, drain. Stir in Tomato sauce. let cool.

Punch dough down and divide into 16 pieces. roll out into 5" circles. Top each circle with 3 Tablespoons of mix, then put two of the quarted cheese slices on that. bring dough over filling (gathering it to top) pinch edges to seal. Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet.

Cover and let rise for about 20 min. Bake at 400°F for 8-12 minutes.

YUMMY.....yields 16 sands
